Welcome to 'Her Health First Asia'

There is stigma and taboo relating to periods, which works to create a sense of shame around what is a natural bodily process. In Pakistan, because of their culture, schoolgirls and women are embarrassed to discuss menstruation openly. This discomfort made it difficult for them to seek help or communicate their needs. Consequently, many girls and women don't know how to maintain their health during menstruation.

Furthermore, most of the schoolgirls that we support come from impoverished families and struggle to access clean and affordable menstruation products. As a result, they often miss school and other activities during their periods. Using unhygienic materials like old clothes can lead to health issues and infections, especially exacerbated by hot weather conditions. Many families lack clean and safe toilets, making it even harder for girls and women during their periods.

At Her Health First Asia, we are deeply committed to our mission to make a difference by:

  • Educating girls and women about their health during their periods.

  • Providing clean and safe menstrual products to schoolgirls and women in school and sewing projects we partnered with.

  • Conducting workshops to teach girls and women how to make their own sanitary pads.

  • Securing opportunities and vocational training for underprivileged students in healthcare occupations.

So, let's break the silence on period poverty!

In addition, check our handmade products in our shop made by our supporter community, The Cross-Cultural Hub. We are very excited about the opportunity to provide vocational training for 50 women as Midwives and Health Visitors from the sale of the products. This two years training will help them become self-sufficient and secure dignified employment.
